You can use supply to repair walls and doors within Towers and Keeps. You can repair even if a structure is under attack, negating ongoing damage. However, you may not be able to out repair multiple Golems/Rams – in these instances it’s much better to fall back to the inner keep within Keeps or try to focus the siege weapons down.

Supplies are used for various upgrades at Resource Camps, Towers, and Keeps. The supply used for upgrades comes directly from the Supply Depot, meaning that the Supply must first exist in the depot for the upgrades to be purchased. Players cannot refill supply depots, as previously mentioned, so making sure not to take from a keep where players are going to purchase the upgrades is important.

There are multiple types of siege weapons that you can build. They come in two forms, offensive weapons that players can build within the world and defensive stationary weapons usually bound to a structure. It’s extremely important to understand that only Siege Golems can be moved. Any other siege weapon will be affixed to the location. Whenever you utilize a blueprint, a build site will appear that allows anyone to use supply in order to build the siege weapon. It’s another important note that the last person to supply a build site will get the first chance to use a siege weapon.

Offensive Weapons:Arrow Cart :Anti-player weapon, fires arrows at the target on the ground, but does not damage structures;Ballista:It fires a large bolt that does damage to structures and players, but is difficult to aim;Catapult:Does ground targeted damage to walls, gates, and enemies, but only does moderate damage;Flame Ram:Deals heavy damage to gates, but is very weak to oil and attacks;Alpha Siege Golem: Essentially a portable ram, a player can load themselves into it and move it / assault sturctures;Trebuchet:Long range siege weapon, great for taking the walls down on heavily fortified Towers / Keeps.

Defensive Weapons:Boiling Pot of Oil: Does massive damage below the pot of oil and inflicts Burning. It must be focused before players can begin building rams / assaulting the door;Cannon: It can fire three types of ammo normal, Bleed condition, and Freeze condition and works similarly to the Arrow cart.

We’ve been working hard at finding a solution to the problem of setting up separate reset times for the European and North American regions and I’m happy to say we’ve accomplished it! Starting next matchup and going forward the North American WvW matchup will reset Friday at 9:00 PM EST and the European matchup will reset at 19:00 GMT. It’s our hope that this will make for a better experience for everyone.

“The Consortium is neither good nor evil. The Consortium is capitalist,” ArenaNet Narrative Designer Scott McGough begins as he introduces this faction to gamers in a new video. “The Consortium is neither good nor evil. The Consortium is capitalist,” ArenaNet Narrative Designer Scott McGough begins as he introduces this faction to gamers in a new video. If you’ve been playing Guild Wars 2’s new living world content in Southsun Cove, then you’ve undoubtedly bumped into one or two of the representatives from this firm.

McGough explains that the Consortium is angling to be a competitor to the Black Lion Trading Company, and that means selling people all sorts of feel-good products that they want and need. They also appeared to be the savior of the refugees from the previous living story, offering the dispossessed a place to live and work. Unfortunately for the settlers, the Consortium is not prepared to let them go any time soon, and Southsun Cove is a much more dangerous place to live than the Consortium realized.

Runescape begins first experiment

Credits for popular minigame can be earned through achieving in-game feats or paying cash
Runescape begins first microtransaction experiment
Cambridge based MMO specialist Jagex has launched a targeted microtransaction system within a small section of the Runescape universe.

Runescape customers are now able to purchase new attempts to play a popular minigame called Squeal of Fortune; a game of chance that offers various in-game prizes.

Jagex has preserved the many chances to earn spins through standard progression within Runescape.

The company told its community: “Although earning and winning spins are great new ways to spend more time [playing Squeal of Fortune], that’s not enough for the impatient among us!”

It does not appear that the microtransaction system appears anywhere else within the MMO, though the company has now established a framework to sell virtual items.

The new feature has immediately sparked complaints from vocal Runescape players, of which many claim to have been “betrayed” by the new policy.

In 2007, Jagex removed certain aspects of Runescape to stamp out ‘grey market’ trading of virtual goods. The game is monetised though advertising and an optional subscription to premium features.

The subscription options available will cost users anything between £3 and £10 per month.

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard previously branded microtransactions “a stealth tax”, though he may have been referring to how other games, unlike Runescape, implement virtual sales by prohibiting player progression until such goods are purchased.

Rob Smith, an executive at Jagex, last week said that a gentle introduction of virtual item sales over time “could possibly be introduced, providing our audience is happy with it”.
