World of Warcraft Frenzied Crystal of Rage

FCR is the “Cleave” trinket, which makes it great for fights with multiple targets close to together, but it doesn’t rank well on simulations or theory with one target.

Due to loot competition in my raid as well as loot RNG, this is the only trinket I’ve personally acquired so far of the tier 16 trinkets. I tried it out on Spoils of Pandaria as destruction, which is a fight so rich in multiple targets that you can spend a good majority of it with Fire and Brimstone turned on. However, the Cleave part of the trinket only did about 5% of my total damage, which settles a little lower than halfway down my damage sources on World of Logs.

Drops off: Malkorok, first boss of third wing
Proc 1: attacks can Cleave, aka same damage done up to 5 nearby targets
Proc 2: attacks grant intellect for 15 sec; 15% chance with 85 sec ICD

On the other hand, I love this trinket when I go out to farm reputation or coins on the Timeless Isle. If you can, click the shrines for a Celestial’s buff — while Yu’lon’s or Xuen’s buff makes sense for damage dealers (Niuzao’s is good for undergeared alts), I’ve found Chi-Ji’s buff is actually the most fun to have. Pair this with the Cleave trinket and go to town rounding up reputation on the Isle.

WOW Miscellaneous Tidbits and Facts

The Dark Iron event happens every 30 minutes and involves an invasion of Dark Irons who are trying to break the kegs. If they break all the kegs, you lose. If you prevent them from being broken you win. Take the free booze on the tables and drink it which will throw a keg at a Dark Iron dwarf. Silver Steins will show up which will make you spin around (which does a lot to help). Wow Gold Save at least one keg and a cog will drop that will give you the daily quest for that day and 10 tokens.

Brewfest lasts 2 weeks and the Harvest Festival (not as big of a deal) lasts during the last week in 2009.

When do they tap the kegs you ask? Dark Iron event? Do tell.
Undoubtedly the General Chat for Brewfest will be full of lame jokes, questions about tapping the kegs, and possibly Chuck Norris jokes (even though every super retailer has enough shirts to remind you of that meme). I suggest /leave 1 for your sanity, but if you’ve got some questions here are a few answers.

The kegs are tapped at 6:15 A.M. and P.M. It grants a 2 hour 10% XP boos that works similar to rested XP. So if you’re leveling up then it’s important, otherwise it’s nothing of consequence.

Groups asking for a summon mean the remote straight to the Grim Guzzler. This no longer applies because you use the dungeon finder to fight the boss.

It’s been a long road for the Alliance and Horde, the perennially at-war factions that fuel much of World of Warcraft’s lore (and PvP). Over the last few years, players waved the Alliance or Horde banner as they conquered old gods, dispatched massive dragons, toppled titans, and even crushed a walking constellation. But perhaps none of those battles will compare to the final showdown with the power-thirsty madmanorc Garrosh Hellscream, who seems to have angered pretty much everyone on both sides of the fence with his latest plans for world domination.

Mists of Pandaria’s patch 5.4, titled Siege of Ogrimmar, is almost here. With it comes new content, flexible raiding, a solo pet battle scenario, proving grounds, and one more raid to clear featuring the final showdown between Hellscream and those who would challenge him.

Blizzard marked the approaching cataclysm (get it!?) with an all-new trailer, which you can watch after the break.

We’ve posted about the World of Warcraft and Starcraft themed amusement park in China before, but there are some new pictures from “Joyland” to share today. Redditor FrancescaO_O posted about her experience there, saying “It’s pretty huge. We didn’t have time to see everything but the rides we did go on were great.”

There’s also an article about it on this Shanghai website with a lot more images, including several showing just how blatant a rip-off the theme park is (Thanks JaviG). It’s amazing that stuff like this can go on in China, but we expect nothing less at this point—the park reportedly cost $48 million to build, and you don’t spend that kind of scratch unless you’re positive there aren’t going to be any legal consequences.

Over on Reddit’s /r/wow this morning there was a great post by a priest named Clearly_Unimpressed about a recent time he responded to a question in trade chat: “What would you do with 200,000g?” He replied that he’d buy a Vial of the Sands — the Cataclysm archaeology item that gives you the Sandstone Drake mount.

So what happens?

The guy asking the question in chat finds Clearly_Unimpressed and opens a trade window with him, handing over the Vial. Clearly_Unimpressed was actually quite impressed, thanked the generous fellow for his gift, and mentioned that he wanted to give it to his friend who always desired one.

The trade chat champion would have none of that. He scooted off to auction house and returned to Clearly_Unimpressed, giving him another Vial so he and his friend could have matching mounts.

Too often we hear only about the bad people, the annoying things, the changes we don’t like, etc… Hopefully today we can all take a minute and remember that there are a ton of great people in this community, like this trade chat hero.
